Our newest member of the NBGR is a precious Griff named Tootsie. Tootsie was rescued from an unbearable situation where, for the past three years, she had been living outside in a raised wire cage. She shared this limited space with another female Griff. They were used to produce puppies for profit. Tootsie had not receive any vet care during this time in the wire cage. She has only been free from the cage for three weeks so we are still learning things about this precious rescue. Tootsie had limited human contact and as a result, she craves this attention. She really does not like sharing her humans with other dogs so she may need to be an only fur child. Tootsie will love, kiss, and snuggle her people. She also loves to snuggle beside you and sleep in the big bed. Our Tootsie is a true velcro griff, following you and being very attentive to her people. Since Tootsie has such a great need to have her person with her, she will do best with someone that is at home most of the time.
Tootsie is a 17 pound, red, rough coat Brussels Griffon. She may be 5-6 years old. She is currently working on all of the skills that she will need in her forever home. Her potential adopter will need to be patient as this rescued angel works to be housebroken, crate trained, and leash trained. She is already showing progress with these skills, especially walking on a leash and crate training.
If you think that this precious Griff with an adorable underbite is the one for you, please complete an adoption application. She deserves to live where she is cherished and never, ever have a worry in the world.
Tootsie is spayed, micro chipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on heartworm preventative.
Here is a cute video of Tootsie playing in the snow.
Tootsie is located in Amarillo, Texas.
If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Connie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
