Quincy is a sweet 8-year-old girl who weighs approximately 10 lbs.
Quincy is very affectionate and laid-back and loves to be close to humans. As you can see by her picture, she is adorable. She has a gentle and happy temperament, and is especially content at home when she’s found a nice sunny spot to lie down. She doesn't bark a whole lot, and is a dream to groom. While she does well in a crate, and takes comfort in having her own space, she really enjoys snuggling close to her foster parents. She has been getting along well with the other two Griffons in her foster household.
She has also done great with potty training, and will quickly go on command once outside. In a new home, she might have a few accidents as she adjusts to a new routine, but based on her current family’s experience, she will probably get the hang of it quickly.
Quincy has cataracts, but does have some sight, particularly in daylight. In her foster home, she's had no trouble jumping on the couch or navigating around.
Because of the generosity of NBGR supporters and the efforts of her foster parents the funds have been raised so that Quincy can have eye surgery. We are all confident that her vision will be greatly improved with surgery.
Outside, Quincy is still learning to walk on a leash. Overall, she is a homebody who doesn't require regular rigorous exercise, but she has done fine outdoors. On gentle hikes, she has kept up well on the trails, with her tail wagging, enjoying the wonderful sounds and smells of nature!
Quincy's current limited vision causes her to initially be timid toward new people and unfamiliar dogs. When approached in a rambunctious manner, she can get scared and give a warning growl to the offensive dog. However, she has a kind nature and has never shown physical aggressiveness or violence toward anyone or other dogs.
Quincy's surgery is scheduled for mid-July. it would be wonderful if we had her forever home waiting for her as she recovers. Quincy has had so much trauma and change around her this past year, that she is a little concerned about what goes on around her. She would do best in a quiet home with no children and would likely get along best with a mature dog, but young, high-spirited dogs would probably not be a good match.
Quincy is spayed and heartworm negative. She is up to date on her vaccinations, and is microchipped.
Quincy will make a sweet companion for her forever family. In return for your affection, she will reward you with lots of adoration and love.
Quincy is being fostered in the East San Francisco Bay Area, in Orinda, CA.
If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Crystal at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
