Meet Princess Leia!
Is your Chewie, Wookie, Ewok or Yoda looking for a sister? Here she is!! Princess Leia is a 7+ yr old, 12lb. little fluff-ball Griffy girl. This dog is very special and has the best personality - happy, loving, cuddly, Leia lives to be with her person. She is good with other small dogs in her foster home, great with children, she loves everyone. She has learned to use pee pee pads and will go outside to potty if attended by her person. Leia was surrendered to rescue due to complications from Addison's Disease - which is a disease that results from the reduction in corticosteroid secretion from the adrenal gland. The adrenal gland is a small gland located near the kidney that secretes several different substances that help regulate normal body functions.
After being in NBGR's care and attended by a veterinarian Leia is now very healthy and doing well. Leia needs daily medication (a small pill) and a shot given by a veterinarian every 28 days. Medication is fairly inexpensive and her foster mom can tell you more.
Please consider this sweet girl as a new family member - she truly is a very special dog and derserves a great home. Thank you and May The Force Be With You.
Leia is being fostered in Millis, MA.
If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Cristen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
