  Meet Patti!
(#2781)

Meet Patti, a twelve-pound, black female who was dumped in the country along with three other Griffs. Fortunately, Patti was picked up by a guardian angel and turned over to NBGR. More than likely, she had spent her life producing puppies and living outside in all kinds of weather. Her coat was filthy, dull, and brittle; and she was covered with fleas.

Patti is a quiet, well-mannered, little lady with big brown eyes that have very unusual markings when light reflects on them. Her eyes did not completely develop when she was a puppy; her vision is fine, but she does have some sensitivity to bright light.

Although she is a little shy, Patti loves to cuddle with her foster mom and gets along well with others. When she first arrived at her foster home, she made herself comfortable by curling up next to her big, burly foster brother, Murphy, a beautiful Golden Retriever. Sadly, Murphy passed away a couple of days later due to a long illness. We donít know whether Patti sensed that Murphy was ill or that he was always a gentle and welcoming foster brother.

Our wish for Patti is a quiet home with adults, where she can relax and continue to enjoy her new-found freedom. She would do well with other laid-back dogs, or she could be an only companion as long as she has someone with her most of the time.

Patti walks beautifully on a leash and is ready to go for walks anytime. She is doing well with house training but still needs help as she does have accidents from time to time. Patti is not crazy about crates, but she is perfectly content being blocked off in a small area where she has some freedom to move around. She will sleep in a crate at night but prefers the big bed next to her human.

Patti is estimated to be four or five years old, is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, micro-chipped, and on heartworm preventative. We ask that you keep Patti on a high-quality dog food to maintain her good health and to help bring back the shine in her coat.

If you are looking for a quiet, cozy companion to curl up with, Patti could be your girl. The life she knew before she was dumped was hard, but we can make it up to her by filling the rest of her life with love and kindness. Do you have a little extra space in your heart for this precious lady?

Patti is located in Houston, TX.

If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Connie at conniel@andell.com.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
