Welcome POW newcomer MITSY - 3521. This cute old gal came into our program after her owner passed away. We have no records from her past, but our best guess at first was that she was ten years old. Now we are thinking she is quite a bit older. As you can see from her pictures Mitsy had a major issue going on around her eyes. The area was so painful and raw that all the hair was missing and it was constantly oozing. Needless to say she didn’t want anyone messing with her face.It has taken several months but we are slowly seeing improvement from this infection. As you can see from her latest pictures, Mitsy’s face is much more relaxed and she even appears to smile.
Her first foster mom, Phyllis Campbell Shipman, was wonderful to get Mitsy to her vet appointments and was diligent about caring for her eyes. Mitsy was recently transported by Phyllis and Christie 'Tomlinson' Pace to her long-term foster mom, Crystal Maib, in Colorado. Mitsy will need continued care for her eyes and the surrounding area. We are also working on finding supplements that help her with arthritis.
This little girl has limited eyesight, is deaf and has a total of six teeth in her mouth after her dental. BUT, she is a happy girl and is adjusting to her new long-term residents and surroundings.
We will keep you posted on Mitsy’s progress.
Mitsy will be a long term foster in NBGR -- if you would like to help us with Mitsy or any of our other POW rescues, we welcome your donations.
