Mimi is an adorable little black and tan smooth griff. She is about 7 lbs. and very petite. This girl is very nervous in new situations. She is trained to use pee pads and does not understand about going outside to do her business – but we are working on that. Mimi seems to have had little to no socialization in the first 5 years of her life. She doesn’t run from you – but she goes flat out on the floor if you go to pick her up and she does not seek out attention. It is going to take a lot of love and patience to settle her in to a new home.
Mimi gets along fine with the other dogs in her foster home – although she can be aggressive over food. She is a sweet little girl and we believe that with time she will learn how to enjoy love and cuddles. In the meantime – she observes the action from a dog bed at the edge of the action – quietly watching everything.
Mimi will need a fenced yard because she could be an escape risk. At the moment she is nervous when she is outside but we are working on that also. She doesn’t know how to walk on a leash yet.
Mimi is spayed, up to date on vaccines and on heart worm preventative.
Mimi is being fostered in New Canaan, Connecticut.
If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Vicki at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
