Meet Mila & Maci!
(#3434 and #3435)
Have you been searching for inspiration, fun, and most of all love in your life? If so, NBGR just might have the 2 little girls your heart has been yearning for! Mila & Maci are a bonded pair searching for a family who will welcome them together. They were recently orphaned after their owner was found unresponsive and in a coma.In the blink of an eye, their whole world was turned up side down when they landed homeless in an animal shelter.
Yet despite the tragic turn of events, these 2 sweet girls kept a smile on their face and a song in their heart, wiggling their little butts in happiness greeting everyone they met at the shelter. When NBGR learned of their sad plight, we knew they deserved better, so here they are, happily waiting to share their happiness and zest for life with a brand new forever family! Could that be you?
Mila & Maci are estimated to be approximately 9 years old. Mila weighs just 14.11 lbs. and is at a perfect weight. Maci weighs 15.5 lbs. and is eager to lose 3-4 lbs. so is on a diet with no complaints! Both are doing very well with their new housebreaking routine, and show indications of also being puppy pad trained.
Both walk beautifully on lead, and are perfect little car riders, happy to ride in the back seat wearing harnesses attached to the seat belt or together in a secured crate.
Watch this short video of the girls walking on lead - both are perfectly well behaved!
Maci loves playing with soft plush toys and playing fetch. Mila is the sweet girl who follows your every move, but always these 2 girls are together, even when taking naps on a favorite dog bed made for two!
They will sleep quietly in a crate, but would prefer to snuggle with their family in the big bed at night.
Both girls are spayed, had recent dentals, are up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative, on monthly heart worm preventative, and micro chipped.
Mila & Maci would like to extend a very special thank you to Elizabeth who learned of their plight in Arkansas, notified NBGR, and transported them to Michelle in southeast Missouri, who then transported the girls to Kansas City for grooming and vetting, along with Christine for transporting them to Bolivar, MO soon, where she met up with Angie who will lovingly care for this sweet couple in Springfield, MO until their dream of a new happily ever after comes true!
Sometimes it takes a village to help these little orphans of the storm, and without our volunteers, NBGR could not continue saving lives and making a difference in the lives of the families who eventually adopt very deserving little dogs like Mila & Maci!
Mila & Maci are being lovingly fostered in Springfield, MO.
If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Jan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.

Mila & Maci have been Adopted!
Please join us as we congratulate Mila & Maci! Our two spunky sweet girls have found their very own happily ever after with John & Joyce Boase, who drove 3 hours to bring them home to a small town in eastern Kansas today! Mila & Maci will be enjoying a very pampered life as only children, with their very own pink wardrobe, a covered pink play pen when enjoying road trips with their new mom & dad, sleeping in the big bed at night, and romping outside in a fenced area made especially for them.
After losing the only home they had ever known when their previous owner fell sick, landing bewildered in an Arkansas Animal Shelter, moved to a foster home in Kansas, and later to a foster home in southern Missouri, Mila & Maci still loved life and everyone they met along the way, and taught each of us lucky enough to have met them along the way to never give up because tomorrow may hold the key to a happy ending!
A special thanks to Elizabeth Kissenger for rescuing Mila & Maci from the shelter, Michelle Hanson for transporting them to Kansas to be bathed, groomed and vetted, to Christine Moore for transporting them to their Missouri foster family, and to Angie Schooler for lovingly caring for our girls until the right home came along.
