  Meet Keesha & Skippy!
(#3497 & #3498)

Skippy & Keesha, both approximately 10 years old, are a delightful bonded pair being fostered near Dallas, Texas. They have been together all their lives, dating back to at least 2008. Skippy and Keesha came under the care of NBGR due to an unfortunate change in circumstances when their human suffered with prolonged illness and realized that she needed her beloved Skippy and Keesha to be taken care of and their future secured.

These two have a very special relationship with one another, despite having two different personalities.

Keesha is very sociable and youthful. She has a signature tail wag that wiggles her whole body. She is smaller, ie 15 lbs. She is tan. She wins hearts with her precious personality. Her hobbies include greeting any human, being in the same room with her foster mom and Skippy, eating, and sleeping. She has the cutest snort and snores like a lady. She does not instigate barking, but she will lend her voice with moderation when the occasion merits it. She lovingly tends to Skippy. She does not need to be right by his side at all times, but she does look after him. They touch bases throughout the day. Keesha kisses Skippy's ears and checks on him several times a day. She is known to nuzzle her head under his chin.

Skippy is larger boy, thought to be an Affenpinscher. He is 25 lb. He is a very gentle soul. He loves his naps and staying near his foster mom. He is a guardian of the shower. He has a pink tongue that stays out most of the time. Skippy is very affectionate. It is thought that Skippy is deaf, but this is has not been an obstacle for him. He sleeps soundly. He loves to look out the window. He does not like to be separated from Keesha; it is the only time that he will make any fuss.

Skippy and Keesha eat well together. When they first arrived at their foster mom's house, they ate from the same bowl despite each being given a bowl. They have since figured out that they each get their own bowl. Both dogs love to go outside and bask in the sun. At their foster home, they use a doggy door to go outside in a secure, enclosed area. They are extremely well house trained.

Both dogs are fully vetted and micro-chipped. Skippy has a dry eye in his right eye that requires drops at least twice per day. He will need to remain on this medication and continue with follow up visits with an ophthalmologist.

They sleep in dog beds in their foster home. They have been around children as well as other dogs of all sizes. They both love children and fit right in with the dogs in their foster home.

Our goal is these two can find a forever home together as they are bonded. They have spent their lives together and should know no differently. They have a very special friendship and understanding between them that is unique and in many ways unspoken and cannot be described with words completely- a bond definitely worth preserving.

Do you have a little extra room in your heart and home for this sweet pair? If yes, you can let us know by completing an adoption found on our website.

Keesha and Skippy are located near Dallas, TX.

If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Connie Lawrence at conniel@andell.com.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
