Meet our sweet Emma – a lovely happy 11 lb. girl who was surrendered to a vet by her elderly owners because the medication she was taking for her allergy was getting expensive for them. Emma is now switched on to Apoquel and is doing well on it. Emma will be 8 years old in June.
When Emma came in to the vet they realized that she is diabetic. She was started on insulin and is on a low dose twice a day and is doing really well on it. Her weight is stable and she eats a veterinary rabbit protein food for her allergies and needs to maintain a good diet. She is super good about her insulin shots – as if she almost doesn’t notice she is getting them!
Emma’s foster mom says she is a sweet little soul. Not demanding at all – kind of a quiet girl – and she gets along really well with the other dogs and cats in her foster home.

Emma is being fostered in Ohio.
If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Vicki at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
