  Meet Cocoa!
(#2779)

Hi !! I'm Cocoa.... I'm special. I'm looking for someone to take me in and love me forever! Here's my story:

I was well loved in my prior home until my owner passed away and family couldn't keep me. I ended up in a shelter and then into the care of the great folks at NBGR. I do have some special needs but all in all, I am super easy to care for and love.

I have diabetes, which will require my new family to give me an insulin shot twice a day. Please dont let this scare you - I'm very brave and dont mind my shots at all ! My foster mom will teach you how to take care of me - its easy!! My medication is inexpensive but does require special dedication.

Due to the diabetes, I have cataracts and don't see very well; however I have no trouble getting around the house and even jumping up and down from the comfy couch or navigating up and down stairs and running in the yard.... Speaking of yards, I will need a fenced area to keep me safe while I explore the yard and enjoy my freedom.

I like to potty outside, and enjoy the company of other small, gentle dogs. I'm 7yrs old, spayed, microchipped and up to date at the veterinarian. All I need is a special home to take me in, love me and let me stay forever. Woof - Thank you.

Please consider taking in a special needs Griffon. Our foster mom will consult with new owner on care of a dog with diabetes. Preference is given to applicants located in MA and interested in continuing to bring Cocoa to her doctor at Tufts Specialist in Walpole, MA.

Cocoa is being fostered in Millis, MA.

If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application. If you would like more information, please contact Cristen at emmaresq@yahoo.com.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
