  Meet Bo!

Finding the perfect family for our special needs Bo was challenging, but the loving bond was instantaneous when he was placed in the arms of a very special family who welcomed him into their heart and home showering him with all the love this little guy could hope for. Please join us in congratulating Bo, his new mom and dad Brian & Tracey Bagley along with his new 4 legged siblings Zoey, Lexi, Chance & Arial.

Bo's remarkable story began several years ago when his former family adopted him from an animal shelter after his first owner was no longer able to care for him. Life was good once again for Bo and he happily lived the good life with his new family. Tragically 2 years later his new mom was diagnosed with a debilitating illness, requiring frequent trips out of town for treatment.

About the same time 10 year old Bo was diagnosed with uncontrolled Diabetes, diabetic cataracts, eye lens induced uveitis, Erhlichia, a grade 3-4 heart murmur, enlarged liver, and possibly Cushings.

Between his mom's medical issues and Bo's numerous medical needs, his family was over whelmed and unable to provide the care he needed. So with a very heavy heart, the excruciatingly difficult decision was made to relinquish Bo to NBGR with the promise that we would provide him with the medical care he needed and a new family who would love and cherish him forever.

In all honestly, we were not confident a family could be found who was willing or able to take on Bo's multiple medical challenges, and the expense that would go along with meeting those challenges. We placed him in NBGR's Paws of Winter Senior & Special Needs program fully prepared for him to live out his life with one of our loving foster families along with addressing his medical needs which had already risen to a very substantial amount of money.

Bo was flourishing with his foster family who had bonded with him and welcomed him into their home as one of their own, when one day out of the blue NBGR was contacted by Brian & Tracey who out of the simple goodness of their hearts were hoping to adopt a dog who would otherwise be over looked. We told them all about Bo, and without hesitation they wanted to learn more about him. It was soon decided that the Bagley's would be the perfect match for our special little guy!

A few weeks later the Bagley's made the long 10-12 hour round trip to bring our special boy home. It was evident when they first met that this was indeed a match made in heaven, and reminded us all that angels really do walk among us!

Here is a cute video of Bo.

Bo has settled in very well with his new family, and as you can see in the pictures and video, this is one very happy little guy thanks to one very special family with a heart of gold. If Bo could, he would thank Brian & Tracey for being the special miracle we all prayed for.

NBGR would also like to extend our thanks to Bo's amazing foster family Nisha & Brian Davis who lovingly cared for this sweet boy until the Bagley's walked into his life. Without our foster families, NBGR could not continue saving lives and providing the love these little orphans of the storm so desperately need.
