Meet Angelique!
"Of
the angels" or "angelic" very explicitly describes sweet little
Angelique! This very petite 3 year old, 6 lb. Griff spent the
first years of her life as a commodity in a commercial breeding
facility. Despite numerous attempts, the breeder was not successful
in producing pups for profit from Angelique. We like to think
it was the angels keeping watch over this adorable tiny girl when
the commercial breeder ultimately made the kindest gesture we
could ever hope for by finally releasing Angelique to rescue a
few weeks ago.
In her foster home, Angelique has blossomed almost overnight as
she puts her fears of human touch behind her. She has quickly
learned through love, patience, consistency and ample cuddling
that humans can be trusted and even loved! In record time, she
has learned to feel safe and secure sharing the bed with her foster
family at night, or simply snuggling on the couch while her foster
family watches TV. It has quickly become evident that all little
Angelique wants is to be loved and to love someone in return...just
as it should have been from the day she was born!
Adorable is the only word to describe Angelique as she scampers
about exploring her foster home. Because her first 3 years of
life existed only in a cage at the commercial breeding facility,
the simplest of household activities we take for granted opens
wondrous opportunities for Angelique to experience a brand new
and exciting world.
We like to believe the angels continue to watch over sweet little
Angelique as she patiently waits for her new forever family! Could
the family Angelique has been looking for all her life be yours?
Angelique is continuing to improve with her housebreaking and
lead training. She is up to date on vaccinations, is heartworm
negative, on preventative, microchipped, and spayed.
Angelique is located in the Kansas City area.
If you are
interested in adoption please fill out our adoption
application. If you would like more information, please contact
Pam.
Keep in mind
that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where
they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area
is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get
the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to
travel in the cabin with the passenger.

Update!
Angelique has been Adopted!
Our sweet little
Angelique was adopted today by her very proud new mama who came
all the way to chilly Kansas City from sunny Florida to adopt this
very special little girl. Angelique will most definitely be living
the good life in her new beach home across the road from the gorgeous
white sands of the northeast Florida coast line playing big sister
to her new baby brother, Rocco (a 3 month old Chihuahua), and being
doted on by her very excited new mama and papa!
We just love happy endings, don't you?

Shane (Angelique's new papa), Angelique and Rocco (her new baby brother) on the first excursion to PetsMart. Everyone wore pink in honor of Angelique's arrival!
Thu. 11/20/2008: Our sweetheart is adjusting very well! Today she and Rocco played - I mean really played with each other! Chasing, jumping, running around the living room while I had coffee and Shane made breakfast. We acted like we didn't notice but were laughing so hard! Also she loves to sun herself on the front deck in the morning. I think her favorite thing is when I relax in bed to watch TV. One of my favorite things too I might add! She seems very content and happy. Me too!
Tue. 11/18/2008: Wow. Our little angel is great! I'm amazed at her love! She already knows momma and Shane. She loves to cuddle up. She is a good eater, and has not had any accidents! She has met the ER crew, the HR crew, my hair salon crew, my cat ladies, and Nancy and Doug with one of the 3 Jack Russels. Everyone talked softly and very sweetly and she was great!
We are in love!
Thank you Jan and NGBR!
